Dette dokumentet er gitt på engelsk, som er den juridisk bindende versjonen.

1. Who we are

This privacy policy applies to MenuPress (menupress.app) and its related services (the “Service”), operated by TEXTINTEL FZE, Starcamp Global, DWTC The Offices One, Office Number 01.03, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (“we”, “us”, “our”). We are the data controller of the personal data described in this policy.

2. Data we collect

  • Account data: such as your name, email address and the sign-in method you use.
  • Content: the menu photos, files, spreadsheets and text you bring in, the lists, pages and themes created from them, images you add to make a theme, and the details of your restaurant you add, such as its logo, address, phone number and opening hours. Photos you upload may incidentally show people or personal details printed on a menu. Location data in photos is removed in your browser before upload.
  • Payment data: details of your purchases and subscriptions. Card details are handled by our payment provider and are not stored by us.
  • Technical and usage data: such as IP address, browser and device information, and how you use the Service.
  • Communications: messages you send us and reports you submit.

3. How we use your data

  • to provide, operate and maintain the Service and your account;
  • to process payments and manage subscriptions;
  • to send you service messages, such as sign-in codes;
  • to publish the menus you choose to publish at their public link;
  • to provide support and respond to your requests;
  • to keep the Service secure and prevent fraud and abuse;
  • to improve the Service;
  • to comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal bases

We process personal data to perform our contract with you, on the basis of your consent where we ask for it, for our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Service, and to comply with the law. Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time.

5. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only:

  • with service providers that help us provide the Service, such as hosting, payment processing, authentication, email delivery and artificial intelligence providers that read menus and draw pages and themes, under contracts that require them to protect it;
  • with the public, for the menus you publish: a published menu, including the restaurant details you add to it, is visible to anyone with its link;
  • with Google, as the provider of Google Analytics, and with PostHog, as a product analytics provider, under the cookie choices described in Cookies below;
  • when required by law, or to protect our rights, users or the public;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, under this policy.

6. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data internationally, we use appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

7. Retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and afterwards only as long as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. Files you bring in to be read are kept for up to 30 days. Accounts created without signing in are deleted with their content after 90 days without activity. When you delete your account, we delete your content within 7 days. The web addresses of published menus stay reserved so they are never given to another restaurant. You can delete your content and your account at any time.

8. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@menupress.app. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. You can delete your account at any time.

10. Cookies

We group the cookies and similar technologies we use into three categories.

Strictly necessary. A session cookie that keeps you signed in, and a cookie that remembers your cookie choice for one year. The Service needs them to work, so they are always on and do not need your consent.

Analytics. Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (Google Ireland Limited for users in the European Economic Area and Switzerland), and PostHog, a product analytics service provided by PostHog, Inc., help us understand how the Service is used and improve it. Google Analytics uses the cookies _ga and _ga_<id>, kept for up to 2 years; PostHog uses a cookie and browser storage named ph_<key>_posthog, kept for up to 1 year. They receive information such as the pages you visit, the events you trigger (for example, starting a checkout), your browser and device, and an approximate location derived from your IP address. They do not receive your email address, the names of your menus, your files or the content of your menus, and we do not record your sessions. These requests are sent through our own domain. Google and PostHog may process this data outside your country, including in the United States. See how Google uses information from sites that use its services and PostHog's privacy policy.

Marketing. Lets Google Analytics measure the advertising campaigns that bring visitors to the Service, using Google's advertising signals and the _gcl_<id> cookies, kept for up to 90 days. We do not show ads on the Service.

Your choice. If you visit from the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, analytics and marketing cookies are off until you allow them in the cookie notice. Elsewhere, they are on until you turn them off with Settings in the cookie notice; if your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, marketing starts off. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of our pages, or in Settings, Privacy; turning a category off deletes its cookies on this browser.

Published menus. The public menu pages at menupress.app/<name> set no cookies and run no analytics.

11. Children

The Service is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here and change the date above.
